Hey, I'm Mark — a backend developer and DevOps engineer based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I spend most of my time building and maintaining server-side applications, designing infrastructure that scales, and making sure things don't break at 2am. My stack leans heavily on PHP/Laravel, and I'm comfortable everywhere from writing clean APIs to wiring up CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure.

What I Do

• Backend Development — Building robust APIs and web applications, primarily with PHP and Laravel.
• DevOps & Infrastructure — Server provisioning, containerisation, deployment automation, and keeping costs sane.

Currently Exploring

I have a growing interest in AI and machine learning — particularly how large language models can be integrated into real-world backend systems. I'm also always on the lookout for self-hosted, open source tooling that gives you more control without the hefty price tag.
