Inspired by uses.tech โ€” a running list of the gear, tools, and setup I use day to day.

Hardware

  • MacBook Pro 14" (M2 Pro) โ€” My main machine. Fast, silent, and the battery lasts long enough that I rarely think about it.
  • OnePlus 12 โ€” Daily driver. Does everything I need without fuss.
  • OnePlus Pad 2 โ€” Great for reading docs, reviewing PRs, and the occasional YouTube rabbit hole.
  • OnePlus Buds 3 โ€” My go-to for focused work sessions and calls.
  • Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac โ€” Easily the best mouse I've owned. The scroll wheel alone is worth it.

Development

  • PhpStorm โ€” Primary IDE for all things PHP/Laravel. Worth every penny once you lean into its refactoring and debugging tools.
  • VS Code โ€” Lighter editing, quick file diffs, and where I do most of my AI-assisted coding.
  • Junie โ€” Quick commit messages when I'm manually overseeing the commits.
  • Claude Code โ€” My go-to agentic coding tool for heavier tasks and exploring codebases.
  • OrbStack โ€” Runs my Docker containers on Mac. Faster and far less resource-hungry than Docker Desktop.
  • TablePlus โ€” Clean, fast database GUI. Works great with MySQL, Postgres, and Redis.
  • Postman โ€” API testing and building request collections.
  • Termius โ€” SSH client for managing remote servers. The organised host groups are a lifesaver.

Services & Infrastructure

  • DigitalOcean โ€” Where I host most of my servers and infrastructure. Simple, predictable, and gets out of your way.
  • Cloudflare โ€” DNS, CDN, and security for everything I run. The free tier alone is incredibly generous.
